Bas has been involved with NLJUG since early 2019, driven by his passion for Java (Development), as the lead of the NLJUG Academy. Since 2021, he has been a member of the board. In his daily life, Bas is the CEO of Sparkler, an ecosystem of IT companies that focus on craftsmanship and knowledge sharing, with several companies actively contributing to the vibrant Java ecosystem.

Within the board, Bas is primarily responsible for the NLJUG Academy, an initiative through which NLJUG actively connects education (students/developers, teachers, and educational institutions), businesses, and developers even more closely!
